The workshop aims to show participants that drawing can feel comfortable and accurate. That's why I make a point of performing some exercises during the class—watching demonstrations helps everyone understand how quickly tasks are completed and highlights potential challenges, which aren't always clear from written instructions.

 

I avoid lengthy demonstrations, preferring students spend most of their time drawing. My demonstrations are brief, and I sometimes use sped-up videos to illustrate the steps involved in more complex projects.

 

As a teacher, I was known for regularly walking around the classroom and demonstrating techniques directly on students' work. The purpose of the class isn’t to encourage personal artistic expression; there’s plenty of time for that outside the workshop. Instead, the focus is on efficiently transferring knowledge.
